Our Mission — Who we are

We help great science reach the people it matters to.

Vienna is one of Europe's leading life-science hubs. Its researchers, start-ups, and companies turn science into real-world impact — but that work too often stays within the lab or the field it came from.

Vienna LINC is a non-profit initiative that helps close this gap. We link research to the people it affects: putting findings into context, explaining why they matter, and connecting the scientists behind them with the wider public and the scientific community.

We work alongside institutional press offices and communications teams — as a complement, not a competitor — drawing on hands-on experience in public and press media as well as research. Through articles, interviews, and context pieces, we communicate life-science innovation in the detail it deserves, and strengthen Vienna's standing as a life-science hub.

Work with us

For researchers and communications teams.

Have a finding, project, or start-up that deserves a wider audience? We help you turn it into a clear story — finding the angle, putting the science in context, and drafting posts, articles, or interviews that hold up to scrutiny.

We work alongside institutional press offices and communications teams as an extra pair of hands, not a replacement — preparing material they can use and respecting the structures already in place. There's no cost to collaborate.

Vienna Scientists Set a New Standard for Investigating the Functions of our Microbiome

Metaproteomics can reveal what gut microbes actually do, but only if you measure it right. A Vienna team benchmarked five PASEF strategies head-to-head and produced the practical selection guide the field was missing.

Explainer · How we work

How Vienna LINC works

We gather the stories and background from Vienna's labs and start-ups, put them in context, and turn them into ready-to-use briefings — we don't report, we make it easy to report. We handle distribution, while the press offices, groups and founders keep full sign-off. A partner to the teams already doing great work, not a competitor.

LINC goes online

Gregor Mendel's laws of inheritance went unrecognised for 37 years — a brilliant example of how important science communication can be. That gap between discovery and the wider world is exactly why we exist. Vienna LINC launches as a non-profit initiative that helps scientists connect: with each other, and with the public.
